Mulonga Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (MWSC) and the leadership of Chililabombwe District have reaffirmed their commitment to collaborating on water and sanitation development initiatives.
The Company recently held a consultative meeting with key leaders, including the District Commissioner, Mayor, District Administrative Officer, Councilors, and Chililabombwe Municipal Council, to discuss plans for improving water and sanitation services in the area.
Chililabombwe District Commissioner Precious Njekwa emphasized the government's dedication to ensuring communities have reliable access to clean water and sanitation, especially in light of the recent cholera outbreak in the country.
She highlighted the importance of collective efforts to manage sanitation effectively in order to prevent the spread of cholera.
“As a government, we are committed to preventing any outbreaks of diarrheal diseases. MWSC and the Council are tasked with working together to ensure these diseases are kept at bay,” she stated.
Mayor Lucky Sichone echoed these sentiments, stressing that addressing water and sanitation challenges in the district is essential to safeguarding public health.
He called on all stakeholders to collaborate closely so that their collective efforts can benefit the communities.
